About Evergreen
Evergreen is an ten-year-old church plant that is beginning on a fresh stage of our journey together.
We have experienced great things in God, but we have also suffered pain. Several years ago we were an
unhealthy church that experienced division in our leadership and our body. Out of this, we have learned
about the reality of sin in all our lives in addition to the great power of our mighty God who seeks to
work good for those who love him (Isa 64:4). We are learning how to stop performing and to get real with
God and one another. We are learning how to give up the deadly practice of striving but never arriving.
Instead, we have accepted the reality that each of us are on a journey seeking to draw closer to God, live as
Jesus lived, and love as Jesus loved. We want to live lives of purpose, filled with passion. We want our lives
to count. But we are committed to doing so with authenticity, freedom, and grace, accepting that we have weaknesses,
blind spots, and much remaining sin. And we are convinced that our best years are ahead.
We are Evergreen; a group of frail followers and wounded healers who have joined together because of Jesus Christ,
the one who, by faith, has joined our stories with God's story. We are forever moved and transformed by God's love for us
that meets us were we are but does not leave us where we are. Together we affirm that we need a savior, Jesus Christ, who
offers undeserved outside help. And we need each other to encourage one another in our spiritual journey. We want Evergreen
to be a place to love and be loved, to know and be known. We love singles and have a heart for families. Around half of our
young congregation consists of kids under the age of twelve. Our pastor has six kids and needs lots of help, so we have
learned a lot about how to support struggling marriages, come alongside weary parents, and encourage strong and healthy
families. We are less about fixing people and more about coming alongside fellow travelers who seek more for their lives.
We aren't about the right answers or together lives, but relationships that support and encourage people in their journey
through life. God became a man and his name was Jesus. He is alive, loves you and offers hope to all. We would love the
opportunity to tell you more about him.
